Our First Conroe HS Lip Dub!!
We're going viral! We are doing our first CHS Lip Dub to the song "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors.
We have six (6) large groups involved, each group made up of several organizations, clubs and groups. Click here to see the list of groups. Each group is responsible for costumes, props and signs. We're also going to have a final scene that's open to anyone - we're spelling PRIDE out on the field - we'll need lots of students and faculty to make this happen. For this, you must wear jeans and a plain white t-shirt.
Filming is the week of April 28 - May 2! To be included, you must do the following:
Click here to complete the sign-up form. Take it to your APs office by Friday, April 28!
Click here to complete release to be in the video that will be posted to You Tube!
We must have a completed participation form and release on file in order for you to participate!

College workshops for juniors
Juniors will have two opportunities to learn about the college application process and transition this summer.
1. CISD will host it's annual Destination College workshop on 6/12 all day at College Park HS. Registration information will be available soon. This workshop will also include sessions for parents.
2. TACAC (Texas Association of College Admission Counselors) also hosts an event called Camp College. Details are below:
This is a unique opportunity to spend 2 nights on a college campus working with mentors on the college admissions process. Camp College will be hosted at UT-Arlington from Monday June 9, 2014 – Wednesday June 11, 2014. Students will spend two nights and three days learning the ins and outs of how to select a college or university, write quality essays, and apply for financial aid. Camp College is free to all participants, and free transportation will be provided from the Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio metro areas.
Interested students must submit an on-line application as well as additional paperwork that will be emailed to them upon completion of the on-line application. All applications and additional paperwork must be completed by April 1, 2014. Students will be notified whether or not they are selected to attend by May 1, 2014.
If you or your students have questions about Camp College, please email Jordan Sass at jsass@uh.edu or Cassie Kimbrough at cassie.kimbrough@uta.edu.

New Late Bus Policy
A message from CONROE HIGH SCHOOL AND 9TH GRADE
Hello! I hope everyone had a great time during our Winter Break. This week has gone well with students quickly settling back into their school routine. I am writing this letter to inform you of a change in our late bus policy both here at CHS-9 and at CHS-Main. The new policy will go into effect Monday, January 13, 2014. In order to try to standardize late bus runs, we are piloting a “metro” bus format for our late buses. After several lengthy discussions with our transportation department we believe that this new system will get students home quicker and on a much more regular schedule. The details of this new system are as follows:
- Transportation has developed satellite stops much like the bus stops a metro bus system uses.
- These satellite stops are not intended to be within a short walk to each student’s home, but more of a central place where parents may pick up their children without having to drive all the way to campus.
- All students have been assigned a late bus route and a specific stop. This information is available online. A summary of all stops has been provided with this letter.
- Late bus routes will utilize a color system (Blue route, Red route, Orange route, etc.).
- When a student needs to ride a late bus, school personnel will print a late bus pass directly from CISD’s information system. The student’s route color and satellite stop information will be automatically printed on this pass. The student will be expected to ride their assigned bus and to get off at the assigned stop. Drivers will not be allowed to add or modify any stops on the list.
- All satellite stops have been chosen for their safety features (large parking lot for waiting parents, well lit, public place, etc.).
- Buses will run their route every day in the same order, in the same manner as a metro bus. This will help standardize arrival times, saving parents excessive waiting time.
I want to use this letter to let everyone know how much we, the faculty and staff here at CHS-9, appreciate your help and support in creating and growing this new campus. I know it is already a great place for freshmen to be and it will only continue to get better as we adjust and tweak our systems and programs to better suit everyone’s needs.
Sincerely,
Jeff Stichler
