Course Selection

Students will receive their course verifications and progress reports during Tiger Time on Thursday 3/1.  The deadline to make changes to next year's course requests is 4/27.  Students may make changes on the back of their course verification form or by using the change form available in any counselors' office.

During course selection remember the following things:

To be in a Pre-AP/AP/DC class students must also turn in a signed CISD Advanced Course Agreement to their counselor.  These forms are also available in any counselors' office.

To be in a Dual Credit class you must do the following things:
1. Sign up for the course during course selection, if you did not circle the course use the change form to do so now.
2. Apply for admissions to Lone Star College
3. Take the qualifying test ECompass, register at http://ready.conroeisd.net/
4. Come to the Dual Credit meeting in the LGI on 4/16 at 2:45
5. Bring completed Lone Star registration forms and money to the CCC on 4/30

Alternate courses are important!
1. You can add more using the change form.
2. Counselors use these when a class you picked does not work in your schedule
3. If you signed up for a class with pre-requisites you do not have, counselors will use your alternate instead

Students will be able to earn a PAWS pass to visit one of our visiting dogs. PAWS passes will be awarded by the students’ assistant principal when they have shown improvement in their behavior. During PAWS time the student will be able to read to the dog and possibly teach the dog a new trick! The dogs utilized by this program will have undergone extensive obedience training and are working towards their Canine Good Citizen award. These dogs will be handled by our lead counselor, Lydia Joiner. The dogs will be located in the Tiger Den and the Library. Please let Mrs. Joiner know if you have any concerns or issues regarding this program.
